Love Light Tree, Christmas Back Home Highlight Hospice's Mission

11.18.2021

With an effort to bring awareness to the medical, social and respite care it provides to patients and their families, Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd is honored to be the catalyst for the Love Light Tree atop Floyd Medical Center and to be the presenting sponsor of the Christmas Back Home concerts.

The Love Light Tree will be illuminated on top of Floyd Medical Center beginning Thanksgiving night, Nov. 25, and will stay lit through early January. Each light on the tree represents a special person in the lives of those touched by Heyman HospiceCare. For a donation of as little as $25, you can name a light in honor or memory of a loved one or caregiver who touched your life. Visit floyd.org/lovelight to make a donation through Floyd Healthcare Foundation.

Christmas Back Home concerts are returning to Rome for another season. The concerts will be held December 10-11 at 7 p.m. in the Rome City Auditorium. Concert tickets are available at christmasbackhome.com. Tickets are $20 for pre-purchase and $25 at the door.

Musician Scott Thompson has again assembled an all-star band of musicians for a new take on timeless holiday classics. Some treasured pieces have been reworked to include blues, reggae, jazz and rock rhythms. Many of Thompson's original tunes will also be featured.

“The Christmas Back Home concerts are so important to us," said Casey Blankenship, Program Director for Heyman HospiceCare. “The season can be difficult for families who have lost a loved one, and Scott and the band definitely contribute some much-needed cheer. It's a great time for all ages."
