Pregnancy Support
Early Pregnancy Essentials: 2-Hour Class ($15)
This 2-hour class is designed for expectant parents during weeks 4 to 22 of pregnancy. Led by one of our Lamaze-certified childbirth educators and using evidenced-based research, this class will explore the changes you'll experience in the coming months. We'll cover:
- Nutrition
- Fitness
- Pregnancy discomfort
- Tests during pregnancy
- Pregnancy well-being
Days/Times: Tuesdays, 6 to 8 p.m.

Pregnancy Support Group (Free)
This in-person Pregnancy Support Group gives you the opportunity to meet and share with other expectant moms and to learn more about the changes experienced during pregnancy.
Snacks and beverages will be provided. Prize drawings will be held every other month.
Attendance is limited to 15 expectant moms. No additional family or friends may attend.
Days/Times: Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Childbirth Education
Prepared for Birth: 8-week Course ($80)
These 8-week classes are led by a Lamaze-certified instructor. You and your support person will learn about natural labor positions and techniques, and practice new skills weekly.
Our experts will help you:
- Design your ideal birth experience
- Learn about healthy choices
- Create the life you want after baby is born.
The course also includes:
- A breastfeeding class
- A baby health and safety class
- A tour of the Family Birth Center
Days/Times: Mondays or Thursdays, 6 to 8 p.m.
The course is scheduled with due dates in mind. It's best if you are at least 23 weeks pregnant when the class begins.

Birth Essentials: Saturday Class ($65)
This 1-day class is taught by a certified childbirth educator.
You and your support person will get a high-level overview of important childbirth topics including:
- Preparing for labor and delivery
- Pain management options.
Days/Times: Saturdays, 9 am. to 3 p.m.
The course is scheduled with due dates in mind. It's best if you are at least 28 weeks pregnant when the class begins.

Breastfeeding Education
Prepared for Breastfeeding: 2-hour Class ($15)
During this 2-hour class, our board-certified lactation consultants will teach you about:
- Breastfeeding basics
- What to expect when breastfeeding
- Techniques for latching and more
- Common breastfeeding challenges and how to establish breastfeeding goals.
Days/Times: Wednesdays, 6 to 8 p.m.

Preparando para la Lactancia Materna Clase en español (Gratis)
La clase, Preparando para la Lactancia Materna, ayudará a las futuras mamás a aprender cómo amamantar y cómo sentirse más cómodas con la lactancia materna. La clase será enseñada por dos consultoras de lactancia qué hablan español.

Newborn Care and New Mom Support
Baby Health and Safety Class: 2-Hour Class
This 2-hour class covers health and safety for you and your baby. You’ll learn about caring for your child, CPR, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) prevention and car seats. A pediatrician will be available to answer questions about your baby’s growth and development.
Days/Times: Wednesdays, 6 to 8 p.m.

Postpartum and Newborn Care: 2-Hour Class ($15)
This 2-hour class helps you and your support person understand what to expect after your baby is born. This class will cover the physical emotional changes you may experience after childbirth and how to care for your new baby.

Maternal Mental Health Virtual Support Group (Free)
The Maternal Mental Health Virtual Support Group is a support group to promote mental wellness to moms after they have had a baby. This group welcomes all postpartum mothers who need support in coping with the recent changes in their lives.
We use an established program to provide educational information, skills and support in a non-judgmental, caring space for moms who are dealing with depression, anxiety or isolation, or who are feeling overwhelmed and trying to find balance as a mother.

Moms Circle
Beyond childbirth classes, we also offer a private Facebook group called
Moms Circle for moms after the baby is born. The group is open to first-time and veteran moms, and offers a supportive place to talk about life with a new baby.

Atrium Health Floyd Women's Care Lactation Services provides one-on-one appointments and support from board-certified lactation consultants to help expecting and new mothers navigate breastfeeding.
