Diabetic Foot Care
Our foot care professionals are trained to treat and care for the feet and nails of individuals with diabetes. The goal of this preventive care is to prevent infection and ulcers.
Diabetes often causes a loss of feeling and poor blood flow in the feet -- two problems that make it difficult to notice when an infection or ulcer is developing.
Individuals with diabetes should receive foot care check ups at least every 60 days. These checkups are covered by Medicare.
Our trained staff will remove calluses and cut toenails, removing the most common source for friction ulcers and fungal infections. Education on proper foot care and assistance with diabetic foot wear prescriptions are included as part of the visit.
