She provides care for both children and adults in Cartersville
CARTERSVILLE, GA, May 14, 2025 – Kristen Hood, a family nurse practitioner at Atrium Health Floyd Primary Care Family Medicine in Cartersville, emphasizes that approaching patients with dignity and respect is fundamental to her approach to providing care.
“I recognize that patients may have concerns about their health, and I am committed to listening attentively," Hood stated. “My goal is to collaborate with patients, build trust, and develop strong relationships."
Hood understands that there are times when referring patients to specialists is appropriate. She aims to ensure that her patients receive comprehensive care by facilitating appropriate referrals when necessary.
“Even if I need to refer a patient to a specialist, I am happy to do so. My priority is to ensure patients feel comfortable coming to me first so we can address all their concerns, even if I don't have all the answers," Hood explained. She provides care for both adults and children as young as one year old.
Hood believes that an effective provider-patient relationship is rooted in mutual comfort and trust.
“Kristen is a great addition to the Cartersville community. Her patients will benefit from her desire to build relationships and provide outstanding care," said Al Davis, administrator of Atrium Health Floyd's primary care network.
Hood earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and her Associate Degree in Nursing from Georgia College and State University in Barnesville, GA.
