Dr. Cheryl Estes is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Physicians, the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists ​and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She is also a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES).

One of her primary interests includes playing music. She is an oboe player who enjoys practicing and playing with other musicians.​
