October Puts Focus on Breast Health Awareness

10.01.2021

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Floyd is again is focusing on the importance of early detection and understanding your risk for breast cancer.

Floyd's iconic Paper Doll silhouettes will be installed at The Breast Center at Floyd, Floyd Medical Center, Polk Medical Center and Cherokee Medical Center.

The popular Paper Doll magnets will be distributed only to patients of The Breast Center during the month of October to limit in-person interactions as a safety precaution during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The dolls and magnets are taking on a different look this year and will be all pink as Floyd celebrates its place in the Atrium Health family.

As has been customary for more than a decade, the Oct. 1 issue of The Rome News-Tribune will be printed on pink paper and will spotlight the importance of breast cancer awareness.

Those who want to know their risk for breast cancer and the steps they can take now to be mindful of their breast health should visit sayknow.floyd.org. Users can follow the steps to create their own Personal Power Summary. Click here to see the services provided at The Breast Center at Floyd.
