Ken Ozment Receives Regional Facility Management Award

08.07.2019

Ken Ozment, Director of Plant Facilities at Floyd Medical Center, has been honored for his leadership and contributions to the field of health care facility management.

The 2019 Regional Leader Award was given to Ozment by the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA). Ozment was nominated by the Georgia Society for Healthcare Engineers (GASHE).

One member from each of 10 ASHE regions nationwide is honored each year. Ozment received the award for Region 4, which includes health care facilities in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Bahamas and Barbados.

Individuals who receive this award demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and make significant contributions within their local chapter and to the field of health care engineering and facilities management; planning, design and construction; safety; clinical and biomedical engineering; and technical management.

“Ken Ozment is a man of integrity, professional commitment, a friend and the holder of a proven track record of plant engineering success,” said David Early, Vice President of Support Services and Operations with Floyd. “The Floyd team is very proud of Ken and his accomplishments. The recognition from ASHE as the Regional Leader Award for 2019 is further evidence of his contributions to Floyd and his engineering profession.”

Ozment has been with Floyd for more than seven years. He became a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) and a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) in 2018.

Ozment received the award at the 56th ASHE Annual Conference and Technical Exhibition held in July in Baltimore, Maryland. He has also been invited to attend the ASHE Leadership Institute held in Phoenix, Arizona.
