Floyd Names Chief Residents, Announces New Residents

Floyd's Family Medicine Residency Program has named Rachel Anderson, D.O., and Nick Von Der Ahe, M.D., Chief Residents for the new academic year beginning July 1. Chief Residents are selected and voted on by their peers, and are approved by faculty and staff. During their one-year term, they will serve in leadership roles, mentoring underclassmen and acting as liaisons between residents and faculty.

Dr. Anderson received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Valdosta State University in Valdosta.

Dr. Von Der Ahe received his Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.

The residency program is also welcoming its incoming class of residents:

Benjamin Bell, D.O., earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology/pre-med from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs. 

Romy J. Bhagat, M.D., earned a Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Utica College of Syracuse University in Utica, New York. 

Trever Biles, M.D., earned a Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Emory University in Atlanta.

Ashley D. Corey, D.O., earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences from the Lee Honors College of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Diego F. Herrera, D.O., earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.

Logan C. Minshew, M.D., earned a Doctor of Medicine from American University of Integrative Sciences School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados. He received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Mercer University in Macon. 

Jordan N. Moss, D.O., earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee. She received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Young Harris College in Young Harris.

Ra’Shead S. Pompey, D.O., earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee. He received a Master of Science in bio-medical science from Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon and a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro.

The Floyd Family Medicine Residency Program trains physicians in the specialty of family medicine. The program provides three years of academic and clinical post-doctoral education to medical school graduates and offers hands-on experience to residents in preparation for full-time medical careers.
