Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massage provides relaxation, promotes healing and relieves tension and pain through the manipulation of soft tissue and muscles. Massage treatments can improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous, circulatory and immune systems.

Types of Massages Offered

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS)

Allows the body to repair itself and also to prepare for daily activity. Involves holding each stretch for only two seconds.

Healthy Aging

Uses gentle and light application of massage techniques, including passive stretching and a light oil or lotion to permit your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin.

Lymphatic Drainage

A gentle massage intended to encourage the natural drainage of lymph, which is a fluid that helps the body fight infection and carries waste products away from the tissues.

Muscle Energy Technique

Improves muscoskeletal and joint function, and reduces pain.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

A soft tissue therapy for the treatment of skeletal muscle immobility and pain.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.

Prenatal Massage

Relieves many of the discomforts felt during pregnancy, including back aches, leg cramps, headaches and muscle tension.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation

A set of stretching techniques commonly used in clinical environments to enhance both active and passive range of motion in order to improve motor performance and aid in rehabilitation.

Relaxes the entire body by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.

Sports Massage

Specific to the athlete's sport of choice, focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.

Swedish Deep Tissue

Uses firm but gentle pressure to produce desired results.
