Birth Essentials is an information-packed Saturday class held online that offers the basics to prepare you for childbirth.
Participants can interact online with a Lamaze-certified childbirth educator who is fluent in ASL (American Sign Language). She will provide you and your partner with knowledge about labor and what to expect during your delivery.
The class is held through Zoom video conferencing and includes a virtual tour of the Family Birth Center.
Class topics include the following:
Overview of third trimester
Stages of labor
Positions for comfort during labor
Role of labor partner
The course material is scheduled with due dates in mind. It’s best if mom is at least 28 weeks when the class begins.
The cost is $65. Medicaid covers this class, and some insurance companies offer reimbursement. We encourage you to check your plan benefits for more details
