Students pursing an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing are eligible to apply for a nursing scholarship through the Floyd Nursing Scholarship Program. Applications are accepted during the spring of each year.
Who may apply:
- Current nursing students who work in an as-needed PRN role at Floyd Medical Center, Polk
Medical Center, Cherokee Medical Center or another Floyd affiliate
- Current nursing students not affiliated with Floyd Medical Center, Polk Medical Center or Cherokee Medical Center
Scholarships offer $1,500 per semester for RN and BSN degrees, up to $3,000 per year.
A scholarship committee reviews applications and conducts interviews. Scholarship finalists will be contacted by phone in mid-June to schedule their interview, which will be held in July.
If awarded a scholarship, students are required to sign a contract agreeing to work for Floyd for a specific amount of time after graduation or pay back the scholarship upon graduation. Academic records will be evaluated by Floyd after completion of each semester to ensure scholarship students are maintaining at least a B average.
