Students pursing an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing are eligible to apply for a scholarship through the Floyd Nursing Scholarship Program. The next round of applications will be accepted in April 2020.
Who may apply:
- Nursing students not affiliated with Floyd Medical Center, Polk Medical Center or Cherokee Medical Center
- PRN nurses affiliated with Floyd Medical Center, Polk Medical Center, Cherokee Medical Center or any other organization
Scholarships offer $1,500 per semester for RN and BSN degrees, up to $3,000 per year.
Applications are reviewed and interviews are conducted by the scholarship committee. Scholarship finalists will be contacted by phone for an interview.
If awarded a scholarship, students are required to sign a contract agreeing to work for Floyd for a specific amount of time after graduation or pay back the scholarship upon graduation. Academic records will be evaluated by Floyd after completion of each semester to ensure scholarship students are maintaining at least a B average.
