A deep compassion for others and active participation in community affairs is a way of life for Lyons and Jo Heyman.

The Heymans made a generous provision for Floyd's hospice program through a Charitable Remainder Trust to Floyd Health Care Foundation. Their gift was the largest single contribution ever received by the foundation and supports a program that touches almost everyone in our community. In gratitude for this meaningful gift, Floyd renamed the Community HospiceCare program in honor of the Heyman family.

The Heyman's motivation for including hospice programs in their estate plans was two-fold: a strong desire to make a gift to the community that would give in perpetuity and their personal experience with the hospice program.

Now, their family's legacy of compassion for others continues in the community as patients and their families receive quality care and emotional support through Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd.
