When an emergency arises, one of our four ambulance stations located in Floyd County is ready to respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With an average response time of less than eight minutes, our team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and paramedics provide care to the 23rd largest county in Georgia, spanning 518.5 square miles.
For nearly 40 years, Floyd Emergency Medical Services has provided emergency and non-emergency transportation for its community, making Floyd Emergency Medical Services one of the oldest emergency medical services in the state.
Our staff of medics maintain certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and basic trauma life support to ensure superior care. In addition, Floyd requires paramedics and technicians to complete a defensive driving program and emergency vehicle operation training to ensure they have the skills necessary for the road ahead.
Floyd Emergency Medical Services backs up the Special Weapons And Tactics teams. Therefore we recommend our paramedics and technicians complete special operations and methamphetamine laboratory training courses.
We continue our tradition of providing community service by providing first aid and medical coverage for the 70 home games of the Rome Braves minor league baseball team. In addition to providing health coverage for the home games of the Rome Renegades, semiprofessional indoor football team.
Our staff also provides all medical coverage for all medical emergencies at local sporting events, concerts and tournaments. From high school Friday night football games and basketball tournaments to tennis tournaments and music concerts, Floyd’s Emergency Medical Services team is there, prepared to help in any emergency situation.
