Gastrointestinal issues such as abdominal discomfort, excessive gas or chronic constipation are often vague but the long-term effect of untreated complaints can be harmful to your health.
The GI Health Panel is a non-invasive screening of the gastrointestinal tract. Through saliva or stool sampling, this series of tests explore the following abnormalities:
- Pathogen screening: bacteria, fungi, yeast and various parasites
- Digestion-related screens: enzyme levels and immunochemical markers for intolerance to certain foods
- Intestinal function marker: evaluates irritation and inflammation and indicates overall status of gut immunity and integrity
The GI Health Panel is useful in diagnosing the following:
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Chronic loose stools or constipation
- Fat, grain and food intolerances
- Chronic abdominal discomfort/pain
- Excessive, poor or erratic eating patterns
- Sudden changes in bowel habits
- Bloating, maldigestion, heartburn
- Excessive gas
