Hospice is a way of caring for people with progressive, life-threatening illnesses that helps them live their final months comfortably with dignity and without pain. Hospice patients are cared for in their home environment by a team of physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors, hospice-certified nursing assistants, clergy, therapists and volunteers. Hospice care provides medical services as well as emotional and spiritual support for the patient and family.
Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd, named in honor of Lyons and Jo Heyman, is the only hospital-based, not-for-profit hospice service in the area. Our services extend to Floyd, Chattooga, Gordon, Bartow and Polk counties. Our program is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
