This conference will help raise awareness of ethical dilemmas, address barriers, provide resources, and teach practical communication skills for having difficult discussions.
Using case studies, lecture and panel discussion, participants will be introduced to effective communication tools when discussing illness or injury, living life more fully or end of life issues. The guest speaker will be Kathleen Benton, ethicist, leader in palliative care and international author. Participants can earn Continuing Education units.

About The Speaker
Kathleen Benton is the author of “The Skill of End of
Life Communication for Clinicians: Getting to the Root of the Ethical
Dilemma.” She has worked in the area of ethics for more than 12 years. She earned her doctorate in public health leadership from Georgia Southern University, her Masters in Bioethics from Case Western Reserve University and her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Communications from Furman University.
