Computers will be available on all nursing units for practice and you are encouraged to log-on to explore EMR. Also, super-users will be available on all shifts (including weekends) for the conversion and after EMR goes live October 20.
Because Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) will not be fully integrated into the EMR until 2011, Lauren says most physicians will need only about two hours of training. Floyd will begin using EMR on October 20.
Lauren is currently contacting physician offices to schedule training sessions. Here are the details:
- Training will occur in two hour blocks.
- Each session will have three to four participants.
- Training locations are the Physician’s Lounge on the first floor of Floyd Medical Center or the IT Training Room on the third floor of 330 Physicians Center.
Lauren will advise physicians of where training will be held at the time of scheduling.
